Special Issue Information

In the evolving landscape of Operations Research (OR), the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and computational thinking has emerged as a pivotal force driving innovation and efficiency. The complexity of modern decision-making scenarios, characterized by vast datasets, dynamic environments, and intricate systems, calls for advanced analytical techniques. AI and computational thinking offer unparalleled opportunities to address these complexities, enabling the development of more robust, adaptive, and intelligent decision-making models. The fusion of these disciplines is not just a technological advancement but a paradigm shift, transforming how we approach problem-solving in diverse fields.

Despite the potential, integrating AI and computational thinking with OR presents unique challenges. It involves navigating the intricacies of algorithmic design, data interpretation, and decision-making under uncertainty. Moreover, as these technologies evolve, so do the complexities of their application in real-world contexts. This special issue aims to address these challenges by bringing together novel research that showcases innovative approaches, practical applications, and theoretical advancements at the intersection of AI, computational thinking, and OR.

This special issue seeks to highlight cutting-edge research that demonstrates the synergistic potential of AI and computational thinking in enhancing OR. It aims to showcase studies that not only push the boundaries of what is technically feasible but also offer practical insights into applying these technologies in various domains.
